You could tell how experienced and knowledgeable this man was because the area I live in has an obscene amount of granite and lime rock and its easy to break his equipment on that granite. We recently hired Grant Thoman of Stumphead stump grinding to take care of two very large oak tree stumps in our front yard that had been uprooted during Hurricane Irma. They had big root balls. He was tireless in taking care of them for us and did an excellent job. I had tree removal work done on a new property. The tree service took care of all the stumps they could easily access. However they left most of the 2 old tallow tree stumps by a horse barn, which were too close to the building (for their liking). They also left 2 tall stumps on an old fence line. The trees had grown through/around the wire fencing. Grant took care of all of these in 2 hours, ground a foot deep and ground out the large supporting roots. He works carefully and confidently, then fills and levels the area he has worked. Thanks!

We are extremely pleased with the work of Stumphead Stump Grinding. We had recently cut several pine trees as well as 3 clusters of very large live oaks. The live oaks had an extensive root system, and in the case of the largest cluster, the ground was raised by the still-intact underground tree roots in a circle of at least 18' in diameter. There was a ring of saplings shooting up around this 18' circle, and it would have been a nightmare trying to constantly deal with this root system. Fortunately, Stumphead has an automated grinder (controlled by remote control) that, if chosen by the customer, can, in addition to removing the outside visible stump, is able to dig down into the dirt as deeply as required to get rid of ALL the remaining roots. After he is done with the stump and root removal, the other end of his automated grinder has a blade, similar to a small dozer, that he uses to level off the fresh topsoil so that it is flat as the rest of the yard.

It is important to add that his pricing is EXTREMELY FAIR; I was very pleasantly surprised, actually! This was one of the best investments for the money that I have ever made! I highly recommend Stumphead!

We bought a home recently and had a cluster of below ground water oak stumps that pushed the ground up and needed to be leveled. We called several companies but no one wanted to put the cutting teeth below the dirt to level the area. Our last and slightly furthest company was STUMPHEAD. Mr. Grant Thoman not only showed up on time, but he didn't leave his shop without his EQUIPMENT. This Owner/Operator is a ONE MAN BAND. He saw what was needed. He told me he needed to sweep the area. He asked if there were any underground utilities in which there were none. I told him where my WINDSTREAM Cable was located. He painted the ground to sweep in orange marker paint. Mr Grant and I agreed on the price. Mr. Grant put on his safety gear and the WORK began. What a SHOW. He cut in a sweeping system, over and over and the chips and dirt were flying. I was seeing the work I imagined that 'could' have been done. He was determined. He raked the ground. Removed chunks of roots and blew off the dirt. He cleaned his equipment like I wash dishes. He cleaned up and off he went. I realize this is a windy review. I could have said, Good Job, give STUMPHEAD a call. So, if you need Stumps or Even PRESSURE WASHING Done then give Ms. Darlene in the office a call. She is so polite and will get Mr. Grant to come to your home or business. And when your work is done I guarantee it you won't just write a 6 word or less comment. Thank you STUMPHEAD.
